Commemoration and Grant Information

Coronation Information:

King Charles III Coronation will take place on Saturday 6th May and the United Kingdom will benefit from the May Bank Holiday on Monday 8th May to celebrate HM The Kings Coronation. 

The Bridlington Town Council have purchased coins to commemorate the event and plan to distribute to the Primary Schools of Bridlington in April. 

Due to demand of previous commemorative coins extra have been purchased and will be available from the Town Council’s Office to purchase, whilst stocks last, at a cost of £2 per coin with £1 going to the mayors charity and £1 will go towards the cost of the coins.  Below is what the coins will look like:

Coronation-Grant Information:

Residents of Bridlington may wish to have a Street Party or an Event and there are two grants that are on offer.  The Bridlington Town Council are offering one for streets of Bridlington and the ERYC are offering one for people in the East Riding.

For more details of the ERYC Coronation Grant see their websites –  The King’s Coronation Community Fund (eastriding.gov.uk).   Please bear in mind that if you are thinking about planning an event you would need permission from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and you can register your interest by emailing highwaysevents@eastriding.gov.uk and as soon as they can, they will provide guidelines and an application form to close roads for your party.  You will need this information to apply for the Town Council grant and for any further information please contact the office.
