Bridlington Town Council wishes to appoint a Town Clerk

Bridlington Town Council serves a community of over 38,000 registered electors and is seeking to recruit an experienced and committed Town Clerk. The Council occupies its own offices in the town centre.


 As the Council's Proper Officer, the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the effective administration of the Council and fulfilling the statutory duties of the Proper Officer. This includes overseeing all aspects of staff management, advising the Council on governance and legal matters, and ensuring that all statutory functions and notifications are carried out in accordance with legislation.


We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who holds the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification and is committed to delivering high-quality services for the community.


The post is 37 hours per week and is subject to a three-month probationary period.

Salary: From £50,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.

The Council also offers an attractive Local Government Pension Scheme.

VACANCY FOR A COUNCILLOR

1.       There is a vacancy on the above Council caused by the death of Councillor Cyril Marsburg

2.       A by-election to fill the vacancy will be held if by 3rd September 2026 10 electors for the Town/Parish Council give notice in writing to the Chief Executive of the

East Riding of Yorkshire Council at County Hall, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 9BA claiming such an election.

3.        If no such notice is given the Town/Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
