Standing Orders

Standing Orders are the written rules of a local Council. They are used to confirm a Council’s internal organisational, administrative and procurement procedures and procedural matters for meetings. They are not the same as the policies of a Council but they may refer to them.

These Standing Orders were presented and adopted at the Full Council meeting held on the 17th of May 2023 (Minute Reference 17/23)

Aims and Objectives

As your Local Council we aim to be well-managed, accountable and transparent in our operations. Our aims and objectives are focused on serving the community of Bridlington.

The following Aims and Objectives were adopted at the Full Council Meeting 17th of May 2023 for the term 2023 – 2027 and are reviews annually (Minute Reference 17/23)

Code of Conduct

Our code of conduct is a document that outlines the expected standards of behaviour for the elected councillors with in a local council. It ensures councillors uphold high ethical standards and act in the best interests of their community. The code covers various aspects of conduct, including how councillors should interact with the public, fellow councillors, and council staff, as well as how they should handle conflicts of interest. The code of conduct of Bridlington Town Council was adopted in May 2022 as defined in the Localism Act 2011 s27(4)

Rick Assessments

Risk Assessments are adopted within the developing needs of the Council and annually as a minimum requirement. As this is a substantial and detailed document a hard copy is stored in the offices and is available to view on request, by appointment only and cover sheets are displayed at the following link:

Financial Regulations

The Financial Regulations of Bridlington Town Council were adopted at the Meeting of Full Council on the 17th of May 2023 for the term 2023 – 2027 (Minute Reference 18/23)
